The inside scoop...

Kevin is an in-demand pianist, arranger, and educator for jazz, Afro-Cuban jazz  and salsa, as well as for  rock n' roll, classic rock, soul, funk, and more.   Born in Iowa, but raised in San Jose, he has continued to make the Bay Area and its diverse music scene his home.

In 2017 he had the honor of playing at the 60th Monterey Jazz Festival with the Latin Jazz Collective w/John Nava (with a standing ovation from a full house!).

He has played solo piano and in duos, trios, quartets, and other various groups for many restaurants, hotels, parties, weddings, wineries, bars, festivals, cruise ships (Princess and P&O UK cruise lines), speakeasy and Gatsby parties, and many other events and venues.  He has had the honor of sharing the stage (and continuing to work with) with many great musicians (some of whom are grammy nominees and/or nominees)!

As an arranger/composer Kevin has produced work for many groups, both local and international, including "Bandstand Beat," a musical work by the Tabbard Theater in 2011.

Kevin has also given multiple clinics/masterclasses on Afro-Cuban jazz and arranging with the Latin Jazz Collective at CSU Monterey Bay and the Dennis Murphy School of Music.    No matter what the endeavor, Kevin has a reputation of bringing both a fun and professional attitude to the table along with his musical passion and skill.

Kevin holds a B.A. in jazz (piano) studies, a B.M. in music education, and CA teaching credential.  He went to San Jose State University where he studied piano with Frank Sumares.  He also attributes much of his musical education to John Shifflett, Wayne Wallace (whom he studied arranging with), Dr. Aaron Lington, Dr. Dan Wyman, and Grammy-nominated Cuban percussionist, Bosco "El Gitano."

Kevin has multiple CDs out and credits on others.  Click here for more info!
